Yes, you have it, you like design, consistency, and flow… Icons are a great source of direction when displaying content visually. Icons are an art display that express words into art and because most people are visual learners, icons are great for webpages. Within a webpage you can immediately teach a user on a website what types of tools, features, and information you have to display in a number of text and icons. By using icons you are able to display the same image for that perticular topic throughout your website to help a user understand where that source is if they would like to get to it. Also, icons save a lot of room when trying to display a certain ad or page direction.

When is it best to use icons? When your page is full of multiple categories and text and they are hard to distinguish where to go or what to read use an icon. If you can seperate your text into several blank spaces and float an icon to help the user understand what each section is all about…
